Vintage Slow Stitch Kit - Vintage Fabrics - Bird Tin

A vintage tin packed with vintage fabrics, trims, buttons and threads.

This vintage Co-Op Society tin dates to the 1930's. It's been well loved in a previous life, so what could be better than to repurpose it as a store for vintage sewing items and fabrics for making and creating something new. 

This slow stitch kit is coming up roses with a piece of barkcloth printed with red and yellow blooms and a printed hankie civered in pink roses with a yellow trim. It also has some vintage buttons that will match as well as some red and yellow Sylko threads on wooden reels.A length of white lace completes this kit. A good starter collection for a slow stitch project or some small makes, all stored in a pretty vintage tin.

The fabric piece measure 80cm x 30cm.  

These vintage sewing sets make great gifts, and this one is ready to hand over to a sewing friend if you can bear to! Or keep it and use the fabrics and trims to make bags, cushion covers, patchwork and slow stitch projects like the one in the shop picture.
