The Park - Baking

This vintage, French classroom poster is published by Rossignol. One side is shows a bustling French Municiple Park with a bandstand, boating lake, tennis courts and children playing. The other side has a kitchen scene, with women and children baking and making pancakes. This is one of the earlier Rossignol posters and is beautifully drawn and detailed; the park scen especially is filled with characters and activities.

The Rossignol posters were printed on a heavy, off-white paper and have softer colours and a mass of detail that shows French life of the time. All the posters listed are originals and served their time in classrooms. Some have the teacher's name pencilled in the border. They date from the 1940's to the 1960's.

This poster is in good, vintage condition. There is a small tear and crease to one corner (see last picture) but this will flatten on framing. Overall, the main prints are clear with good colours.

These posters measure 76cm by 56cm and are printed on a good quality thick paper/card. There are several designs available in the shop.
