This Wind in the Willows cotton is by Osbourne & Little and dates from 1995. It shows pictures from the original 1908 book by Kenneth Grahame. This vintage cotton is reclaimed and from the Osbourne & Little "Toad Hall" design which is (sadly) discontinued. There are selvedges to both sides with the Osbourne & Little attribution printed on each.
This Toad Hall print is in the red colourway. The fabric is divided into a grid with 18 different scenes in total. Each scene is an illustration from the Wind in the Willows story and shows the various characters in different rooms in Toad's elegant mansion. The illustrations are detailed and beautiful and the colours are bright. This is a reclaimed fabric in fabulous condition.
Wind in the Willows fabric turns up rarely and this is a particularly difficult print to find in any quantity so this is a happy day! Because of the design, it will divide well for smaller projects or a patchwork quilt. Or you could use the whole panel as the basis for a throw. Vintage upholstery projects would look fantastic in this fabric or frame it up for some wall art.
Toad Hall cotton measures 143cm across including both selvedges. It is sold in 43cm lengths which will give you a full repeat of all 18 pictures (6 across x 3 deep). You may lose a bit from the top of the two larger images but they are still completely usable. If you order more than one unit it will come as a continuous piece to a maximum of 2.15 metres.
(Please note that there is a note on the selvedge that says this print is "not to be used for commercial manufacture". I've seen a few cushion covers for sale in this print so I don't think there is still an issue with it but you can make your own judgements.)
