This vintage Christmas tin is from the early 1950's and was filled with Elkes biscuits - about 4lb's of them! The lid has children buying hot chestnuts from a cart (20 for 1d), with skaters on a frozen pond in the background. There are top hats and crinolines everywhere - nostalgia at it's best! The sides show more skates and the words "Xmas Assorted Biscuits".
This vintage tin is in good condition for its years. The pictures are clear and are no real dents or marks. There is some wear, as you would expect; there's a small mark to the top by the tree with a slight raised area, some wear to the edges and historic sellotape remnants to the edge of the lid. The lid fits well but coould be snugger, the inside is clean with just tarnishing - no rust.
It measures 23cm x 22cm x 10cm so is perfect for holding a Christmas cake or a Christmas biscuit assortment of your own!
