This vintage, French classroom poster is published by Rossignol and is double sided. One side shows L a Pluie and the other is Il Gelé. Both are beautifully drawn and detailed.
The poster shows different weather conditions at the same scene - a mall house by the river. In the rain the woman tries to lead her goat back to the shelter whilst others trudge and cycle through the deluge. In the frost the boat is frozen and children slide on the ice.
The Rossignol posters were printed on a heavy, off-white paper and have softer colours and a mass of detail that shows French life of the time. All the posters listed are originals and served their time in classrooms. Some have the teacher's name pencilled in the border. They date from the 1940's to the 1960's.
This vintage French poster is in good condition. There are some pinholes to the corners and nibbles to the edges but the main prints are clear with good colours on both sides.
These posters measure 76cm by 56cm and are printed on a good quality thick paper/card. There are several designs available in the shop.
