This iconic fabric was designed by Tom Mellor for David Whitehead in 1954. Called "Flower Pot" it is a roller printed, spun rayon and was designed as a furnishings fabric.
This fabric came out just three years after the Festival of Britain, and reflects many of the design styles that were beginning to emerge. Stylised plants, blocks of colour and abstract shapes.
This fabric is part of the V&A collection - just in case you needed even more of a pedigree!
Use it for a cushion, a bag, to upholster a seat or just as a piece of wall art. Wherever you put it, you'll be looking at a bit of genuine textile history and it'll make you happy!
This vintage cotton is in very good vintage condition with a slight, even fade but retaining good colours. It is sold by the quarter with each piece measuring 50cm x 50cm - perfect for a bag, cushion or seat cover.
