1960's Huntley & Palmers Christmas Tin - Slight Second

This big vintage Christmas tin once held 4lbs of Huntley & Palmer's "Christmas Assorted" which is a lot of biscuits! It dates to the 1960's and is as bright and cheerful as a festive tin should be. 

The lid shows a town street on a snowy evening. Stars light up the sky and smoke curls from chimneys. The setting is crinolines and top hats but the inn sign has a decidedly mid century feel to it! The main image is surrounded by a lovely holly border on a red background. The images around the sides show more of the same town scenes.  The Huntly & Palmer logo is present too.
This Christmas tin is in  good condition for its age with bright colours. This one has a slight dent to the lid side which means one of the edges bends out slightly in the middle. This does not affect the function or closing of the lid. Other than this, it's the same as the other tin listed.  It's an early one so the tin is solid and the base has lovely rolled edges. There is wear to the corners and edges of the lid and some light scratches - all pretty much as you would expect. The sides are in good condition and the lid fits snugly. There is some tarnishing to the base and inside, but no rust.
This Huntley & Palmer's tin measures 23cm x 22cm x 12cm so is perfect for holding a Christmas cake or an assortment of your own - either to store or give as a present.
