This fantastic screen printed textured cotton dates from 1968 and has scenes from the BBC series Hector's House.
This original, vintage fabric shows Hector, Zaza the cat and Kiki the frog in different scenes on a blue background. The series first aired on the BBC in 1968 so this fabric is from the earliest days of the programmes.
This is reclaimed fabric with a selvedge to one side. The cotton is soft but still strong with good colours and no stains or tears. There are a few small pilling marks. The image of Hector and friends in the house is complete, the other two images are slightly cropped.
This Hector's House cotton is very rare fabric and an icon of sixties and seventies children's television and absolutely my last piece. This 52cm x 57cm remnant isn't a bad size. Frame it up, make a bag or cushion and enjoy!
