This vintage French cotton is grey with big, bright flowers. The background has an abstract grey and black pattern and the bunches of flowers are overprinted in bright red and yellow with green and white highlights. Although this fabric dates from the 1960's/1970's it has a very modern feel to it.
It's a strong, textured cotton and a perfect weight for covering a stool or small chair. (I have some covering a footstool and it looks great.) Each bouquet is about 44cm high so this is a good statement piece print. There are selvedges to both sides - one is neatly hemmed. It's marked Francetiss - Aureoles - 145.
There is an old fold mark about 40cm from the bottom - see the last photo. I think you would need to cut on this line to give yourself two seperate pieces of fabric - this would still give you plenty of this lovely print to work with.
This French cotton measures 140cm across x 150cm long.
