This original, vintage travel poster was produced for the German Tourist Board in the mid 1930's.
It shows a happy scene with women in traditional dress riding a chair lift and looking after cattle. The title at the bottom locates it in the Bavarian Alps at Berchtesgaden and it was printed in Germany for Meisenbach Riffharth & Co in Berlin. It measures 74cm x 50cm.
This travel poster is pre-war and so shows some wear for its 80 or so years. There are some old tape marks and repairs to the top and bottom edges and a bite taken out of the bottom edge. The central picture is charming and the colours are good with no fading. It's a remarkable survivor from its time.
There is another German travel poster in the shop; the two would look great framed and hung together.
