This Fred Bassett fabric is a screen printed linen by Wardle Fabrics. It dates from the 1980's and shows Fred and his friend Jock in a variety of poses. The background is filled with examples of the original cartoon strips by Alex Graham.
Fred Basset fabric is hard to find in any quantity so if Basset Hounds are your thing, grab some of this whilst I have it. I have never found this print as a screen print linen before and this is crisp and much clearer than the usual polycotton.
This is a reclaimed Fabric in excellent condition with selvedges to both sides and attribution to Wardle Fabrics and Associated Newspapers. The colours are bright colours and there are no marks or thinned areas. The print is clear and it's ready to use on any number of projects. I have unpicked all the hems and there are faint fold lines to the top and bottom. These will improve with a wash and steam iron - see the last photograph.
There are two Fred Basset panels available, each measures 128cm across x 130cm long.
There are some smaller pieces of this print in a cotton blend available in the shop.
