This original 1930's Vogue dressmaking book is packed with information on dressmaking - from techniques to equipment. It was published in 1938 by Conde Nast and is the last word on what and how to sew.
I have included a picture of the index page so that you can see the complete contents of this book but it starts with how to measure and read a pattern and then moves through all the main dressmaking techniques. Most of the chapters are as relevant today as they were in 1938 - my favourite though is the section dealing with "Disproportionate Figures". I suspect that I may well fall into that group!
There are also some great adverts on the first couple of pages, and a handy visual guide to decorative stitches at the end. All in all a perfect vintage dressmaking bible.
This is a softcover book with 65 pages. It measures 19.5cm x 28.5cm and is in excellent condition with clean pages and clean covers. There is some scuffing to the spine, but nothing serious.
This edition is particularly hard to find so if the 1930's or vintage dressmaking are your thing, grab it now.
