This is a 1930's vintage French cotton in a dusky pink colour and showing a variety of animals, birds and fish having fun!
The background colour of this cotton is a lovely soft pink and the creatures are printed in four colours. The red, green, yellow and blue colourway is typical of the thirties and gives a slightly jacobean pattern style. We have birds looking after a baby in a nest, rabbits playing blind-man's-bluff, fish leaping for joy and a rabbit hiding from a cheery looking fox.
This is an old fabric but the colours are fresh and there is no damage. The cotton is strong and workable. The only sign of age are some foxing or damp marks that must have occured during storage at some point. These are scattered and not really intrusive but they are there. I've tried to show the worst of it in one of the pictures.
There are four pieces available, each measures 56cm wide x 46cm long. If you order more than one I will try to send it as a continuous piece. This is a perfect cotton for a small vintage project like a cushion or bag. It would also look lovely as the centrepiece of a quilt or throw.
