1930's Father Christmas Decoration - Balloons

This charming Christmas decoration dates from the 1930's and has Father Christmas holding a set of coloured balloons.

He is hand made from wire, covered in red crepe paper and moulded into a sitting position. The face is made from, (I think), a Balsa wood and the features are hand painted with a white, wool beard. The balloons are tissue paper over Balsa wood too.

This vintage Christmas decoration is a rare survivor from a bygone time. Santa is in very good condition overall. The red of his costume is still a strong colour and the facial details are all clear. There is no damage to the body. The balloon colours are slightly faded and he may have lost some glitter over the years.

Father Christmas comes in a vintage Christmas box which is also in excellent condition.
