Sold. I'm out looking for more but in the meantime head to the shop for more lovely things at www.handmadeandvintage.co.uk
This Alice in Wonderland linen dates from the 1960's and is an American print from the Indian Head Print Company. It features the original drawings by Sir John Tenniel to create a gorgeous print that is screenprinted onto a white background.
This is reclaimed fabric. The structure of the vintage linen is good, the print has an overall fade which gives a softness to the colours - most noticeable on the yellow title boards that are scattered about. The fade increases to the left of the fabric. There is a faint fold line about 10cm from the bottom and about 10cm extra fabric below that with a stitch line. There are a few faint marks but nothing that detracts from the print.
Many of the main characters are included with Alice, the White Rabbit, Humpty Dumpty and the Mad Hatter. Vintage Alice fabric is so hard to find these days - especially with the original illustrations - so I'm pleased to have found some pieces of this.
This Alice linen measures 100cm across, including one neatly seamed edge.
*Please note that this is a vintage linen with fading to the overall fabric. If you are after a bright pattern this is not for you.
