Sold. I'm out looking for more but in the meantime head to the shop for more lovely things at www.handmadeandvintage.co.uk
This cigarette tin dates from the 1960's and contained unfiltered cigarettes from the Craven A company. Red tins contained filtered ones and seem to be more common. The cigarettes were made in Canada I think but the tins were manufactured in England.
This one has the Craven A black cat logo on the front and writing inside the lid which says, "Craven Plain is the same quality cigarett as Craven A in the red packaging but made without the cork tip. Carreras Ltd, Arcadia Works, London, Eng (Est 1788)".
The outside of this Craven Plain tin has great colours and no real scratches. There is a dent to the front right corner and a smaller one towards the back of the lid but these don't affect the functionality and the hinge is still good. Inside there are some small rust marks .
