This 1960's vintage fabric is a pale yellow cotton that shows Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin and all the other inhabitants of the 100 Acre Wood. This is a 1965 Fothergay print for Disney fabrics.
The line drawn illustrations are detailed and colourful. These are a mixture of early Disney renditions of the characters - Winnie the Pooh is wearing a red top as in the films - and EH Shepherd drawings - Tigger is more like his book version. It's very hard to find.
It's in good vintage condition with some very gentle fading down one side (see photo) and a few, scattered, foxing marks. The cotton is strong and the colours are still good. There are clearly marked selvedges to both sides - these are stitched down with a 1cm hem - and there is a fold line to the bottom of the fabric at approximately 4cm. For a 50+ year old fabric - it's in good shape!
This Fothergay print is the lovliest Winnie the Pooh fabric that I've come across and would be perfect for a cushion, bag, or part of a quilt. Framed up, it will make perfect, vintage wall art.
It's sold by the fat quarter with each piece measuring 55cm x 55cm. If you order more than one it will come as a continuous piece.
