This vintage Sanderson children's cotton is called Home Sweet Home and dates from 1984. It's filled with portraits of rabbits arranged on a floral trellis background.
There are five different rabbit portaits shown in repeat - a mix of boys and girls. They are arranged in oval frames and placed against a background that looks as though it has come straight from a William Morris drawing. There's a lovely Arts and Crafts feel to this Sanderson print.
The colours are soft but clear. My camera has a tendency to make the fabric look more contrasted than it actually is - see the final picture above for the nearest rendition. The cotton is is lovely vintage condition and would be perfect for a variety of projects from quilting, to clothing or even upholstery.
Each oval is about 14cm high and the vertical repeat is approximately 55cm. Home Sweet Home measures 120cm across and is sold by the half metre. If you order more than one unit it will come as a continuous piece to a maximum length of one metre. It is also available as a fat quarter in the shop.
