This vintage French linen is a screen print fabric with pictures of children and animals in a block design.
The background colour is white and the linen is divided into squares with pink intersecting lines. Each white square is approximately 14cm high.
There are selvedges to both sides of the print showing the designer's name - Pascaline Yillon - and the producer - Romanex de Boussac. Yillon is a well known French textile designer and this fabric dates to the mid sixties. The design is entitled Les 4 Jeudis.
The linen is crisp and strong and the print is good. There are a couple of small marks (one is shown on the picture of the cat) but nothing that detracts from this lovely vintage children's print.
You could easily divide these squares and restitch them as a patchwork, or use the fabric in one piece as a centrepiece or for cushions, bags, etc..
The linen measures 120cm across and is sold in 55cm lengths which will give you 3 full rows of characters - about 15 in all. If you order more than one unit it will come as a continuous piece.
