Sold. I'm out looking for more but in the meantime head to the shop for more lovely things at www.handmadeandvintage.co.uk
This Tintin duvet cover shows the drawings from one of Herge's most popular stories - Destination Moon. Tintin and Captain Haddock are shown in their spacesuits along with the iconic red and white rocket and drawings of the Earth and the Moon.
This duvet cover dates from 1999. There is a Herge copyright with the date mark on both the duvet and the pillowcase.
It is very difficult to find a complete Destination Moon duvet set in good condition - this is my first! The pillowcase shows a large drawing of Tintin on one side and the rocket on the other.
This set is French so the pillowcase is square. The duvet cover itself follows the french design of being open at the end with a long tail of fabric that tucks under the mattress to keep the duvet in place - genius!
The duvet cover is printed on both sides with e the same pattern on the reverse. If you are feeling creative, there are some matching fabrics in the shop which are from the same story and which would make great cushions!
This is a vintage set, but in excellent condition - it feels like it has never been used. The duvet is crisp and clean as is the pillowcase. The cotton is a pale yellow and is strong and unfaded.
I only sell bedding that I would be happy to use myself but please do remember that this is a vintage set. This bedding has been well looked after and is in excellent condition - however, if you are looking for a new duvet set this one is not for you.
100% cotton and a single bed size - approximately 130cm x 190cm (plus the tail).
