Beautiful, Very Big, Hand Embroidered Tablecloth/Bedspread

Stunning Vintage Linen

This huge cloth has been hand embroidered with big bunches of flowers and posies all created in cross stitch.

There are large bunches of flowers including poppies and cornflowers in each corner, smaller bunches around the edges and posies across the whole central area. The whole cloth is edged with a blue blanket stitch and the blue is further picked out with a geometric design around the whole piece.

The background cloth is a beautifully laundered white linen and the cloth is in good vintage condition. There are no holes and the colours are stunning and bright. There are a couple of light, foxing type marks but they are small and in keeping with the vintage nature of the cloth. The stitching and work on this cloth is of high quality.

This cloth is very large measuring 316cm long by 150cm wide. It would look fantastic on a large table but equally lovely on a bed or sofa.

This really is a lovely item - one of my favourites - that came from a country house clearance. It has a laundry mark and has obviously been professionally laundered over its lifetime.
